There is a school called the Barefoot (پابرهنه) College. It is for poor (فقیر) people. But it is also for people who want to learn (برای یادگیری). It is for people who want to have a better (بهتر) life. They study what will improve (بهتر کردن) their lives.

The college is in Rajasthan, India. It was started by Bunker Roy. He left the city to visit the villages. Then he lived in the villages. He saw (see: دیدن) that the people were smart. (هوشمندانه)

The college began (begin: شروع) with young men. It taught (teach: آموزش دادن) them to be solar engineers (مهندسین خورشیدی) to bring light to their villages. The plan did not work: the men went to the city to find jobs. They did not go back to their villages.
The college learned a lesson. The college changed (تغییر کرد). They taught mothers and grandmothers. The women could not read or write. But they were eager (مشتاق) to learn. The mothers and grandmothers would never leave their villages. They would return (برگشت) to help their children and grandchildren.

After 6 months, the women could make and repair (تعمیر) solar lanterns, solar water heaters, solar cookers and solar panels.
The women taught more women. The Indian grandmothers have made solar panels for more than 10,000 families in 16 regions (مناطق) in India!
These women leave for college (دانشکده) as grandmothers. They return to their villages as heroes (قهرمانان)!
